Matrix Research has been, for many years, conducting 360⁰-type assessments for various companies and organizations. This includes supporting several Ontario Colleges conducting their mandatory Quality Assurance Programs on an ad-hoc basis. In 2010, we entered into a partnership with iComp Consulting Inc., a leader in management consulting services to regulatory bodies and a provider of customized continuing professional development and competency assessment tools. Together, and collaboratively with regulatory bodies, we will develop and execute comprehensive customized Quality Assurance Programs and support ongoing program activity. The methodologies are tailored to each College’s needs and conditions and include both paper-based and online, as well as “hybrid” (a combination of the two) assessments.

Unique to the industry, because of its exposure to, and relationships with, numerous organizations and industry leaders, iComp is aware of best practices and offers a full range of services to develop customized continuing competency and competency assessment tools that meet the goals and philosophy of each organization. From software solutions (ePortfolio, online Practice Assessment and Remediation tools) to item writing and customized learning modules, their highly skilled and experienced partners offer a wide range of services to support the development of an effective, evidence-based Quality Assurance Program.

iComp Consultants has experience and expertise in health regulation and offers a range of services, including project management; defining program processes, logic models and program plans; facilitating focus groups; writing and editing website copy, newsletter articles, member materials, briefing notes and policy papers, proposals and contracts; engaging in vendor selection and contract negations; case management; and conducting peer assessor training. Among others, their current clients include the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario, College of Veterinarians of Ontario and the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario.
