| Protecting survey respondents' privacy rights is vitally important to our company, and to our industry. We have earned and depend upon the trust and goodwill of Canadians, and our industry has always been a leader in privacy protection.
|
| |
| Our company's privacy policy is stated in this section of our web site. It sets out a number of ways for Canadians to contact us, and includes an email address for any questions, requests or instructions about our use of their personal information. We believe that our company is in compliance with PIPEDA and the rigorous standards and the Code of Conduct and Good Practice of the Marketing Research and Intelligence Association and its Charter of Respondent Rights.
|
| |
| Anyone who wants to opt out of receiving survey research calls from our company may do so by contacting us directly. We will also respect opt-out requests from a third party, on behalf of individuals, if we are satisfied that the third party has the authority to act on their behalf.
|
| |
| We have anti-fraud measures in place to protect your privacy. We will act on instructions regarding your personal information when we are satisfied that the request is being made directly by you or by a third party who has the authority to act on your behalf. We will honour requests from third party organizations acting on your behalf if they can demonstrate that they are, in fact, acting on your behalf, and if we are satisfied with their personal information management and authentication practices.
|
| |
| We are limiting the amount and type of information gathered to what is necessary for the identified purposes. Our organization uses personal information only for the purpose(s) for which it was collected – typically, for statistical analysis of survey results – unless the respondent consents to its use or disclosure for other purposes. We keep personal information on file for only twelve months, before it is destroyed.
|
| |
| As part of the introduction to each survey or script for recruiting focus group participants, we identify the reasons for collecting personal information, such as, "We are conducting a survey and would like your participation. The information you provide is for research purposes only and is kept confidential. Only aggregate survey responses will be reported to the client." |
| |
| If disclosing respondents’ personal information to a third party (e.g., to a client in a customer satisfaction study) is required, we explain the purpose while asking for consent: "May we provide your name and survey responses to _______ so that a customer service representative may contact you to discuss your specific concerns?"
|
| |
| Matrix Research is open about its procedures used to manage personal information. If you have specific questions, please contact our Privacy Officer by email at
privacyofficer@matrixresearch.ca. Upon a written request to the Privacy Officer, we will advise an individual what personal information about him/her we have in our possession or control, what it is being used for, and to whom it has been disclosed.
|
| |
